Statewide “Click It Or Ticket” Campaign May 18-31, 2015
A major law enforcement campaign to get motorists to buckle will begin May 18. This comes as we are about to enter the busy summer driving season. Motorists can expect checkpoints and stepped up enforcement procedures by police department’s throughout New York State.
Remember New York States Occupant Restraint Law requires all front seat drivers and passengers to wear a seat belt. Also children must be placed in an appropriate child safety restraint system until their 8th birthday.
An estimated 12,000 lives are saved every year by seat belts. According to research, safety belts reduce the number of serious traffic injuries by 50 percent and fatalities by 60 – 70 percent.
Seat-belt violations can result in fines ranging from $25 to $100 in New York.
Most important everyone should buckle up each and every time.
The Law Office of Michael H. Ricca represents Motorist throughout New York State. If you have received a traffic ticket you should always consult a qualified traffic attorney before pleading guilty or paying a fine.
